Stop and Smell the Oysters

"This is the last place on earth I want to be right now." -My coworker, about our place of work.

All that is left from yesterday's storm.

"Happy Four Month Anniversary of You Destryoing my Heart"

How
Is a person
Supposed to feel
When the part of them
That feels
Begins to become
Calloused over?

"the hi road"

somewhere
in the world
you are asleep--
i hope you have
nice dreams.

' To draw an analogy: a man's suffering is similar to the behavior of gas.  If a certain quantity of gas is pumped into an empty chamber, it will fill the chamber completely and evenly, no matter how big the chamber.  Thus suffering completely fills the human soul and conscious mind, no matter whether the suffering is great or little.  Therefore, the "size" of human suffering is absolutely relative. Once you pop, the fun don't stop?

trying to untangle a really tiny knot

"We detected irregular activity on your Bank of America debit card." -My bank, the morning after I purchased porn online using my Bank of America debit card.

Yes, but what will you do when you have your third child?

half organic cafe, half picture frame store. this is not a drill!

That feeling you get when someone who you think is weirder than you moves to a seat further away from you on the subway.

"Ask Nelson Mandela"

There is no
Grey area
When it comes
To a black and white cookie.

"A Tattoo on my Heart"

Oh,
How it is raining.

And oh,
How I wish
I was on my way home
To you.

But nothing
I can say or do
Will make you want
To be
With me.

Don't act
As if
It wasn't me
Who used
To pop
Your back zits.

(It's not the type of thing
That you can do
All by yourself).

The sound
Of rain
Is mundane--
In bed
Alone,
Without you
To hold onto.

But I suppose
You're fine
By now?

I want nothing more in the entire world than to go to a water park.

I'm Always Thinking about Something.

"You look tired." -A stranger in an elevator, about me.

 Help us look for Penelope!

We get it, you're the Empire State Building.

Does anyone know where I can find some bread?

"Five Dollar Minimum"

I'm alone,
And I feel alone.

I'm a scone,
And I feel a scone.

As-Salam Alaikum.

We Share the Same Sky

"Nice legs." -A man who passed me on the street in Chesea while I was drinking a latte and crying.

self portrait: "weird breakfast"

"Apnia via Tears"

Last night
I had a dream
Where I walked under a ladder
On purpose.

Where I snuck onto a deserted island
And was kicked off
By the only local.

A dream
Where a guru told me
That I wanted things
I wasn't ready for.

And I woke up
And I masturbated twice
And I rode my bike without a helmet.
I cried on my way to work
And arrived just in time
To watch the rain dance on the pavement.

I need a job that feeds my humanity. Is that so much to ask?

Humans are so ill equipped to live in their natural surroundings.

"Stay dry." -My therapist.

The person who wears these shoes has different priorities than I do.

self portrait: "white lillies in a dark cab"

"trying to think of things to drink that aren't kombucha or kale juice"

Buying a latte
With change
Is the summation
Of my poverty.

Buying a latte
With change
On my way to therapy
Is the summation
Of my desire to change.

"emotional eating in the rain"

everyday is hard
when you have a broken heart.

i used to love
to buy you flowers--
now i cry for you for hours.

my believe
in the necessity
of our separation
abounds
like the nutritional value of pita chips.

Yes, that homless man on the subway is talking to himself.  But at least he's smiling.

And when we hide so desperately under our umbrellas from the rain, what are we so scared of?

Phase 4?

"Know what your work is, and know what your work is not." -A former voice teacher of mine

Clearly, none of my favorite flavors.

Happy first Puerto Rican Day of the summer!

"A Lack of Meditative Space"

I wonder
Who is living in my old house.
I wonder
Who is living in my old old house.

It's probably important to remember that there are people who know you even when you don't know yourself.

Sit down.

"That little girl is cute but she looks like she's going to be a bitch when she grows up." -My coworker, about a baby.

a tree doesn't grow in brooklyn

"A Lonely and Expensive Cab Ride Home"

The symmetry of your face--
I can't say goodbye
Because I didn't say hello.

Every time I see you
Your hair looks different.

On my way home
To a bed
With pillow cases full
Of old T-shirts.

Eyes down
Past the Barclays Center.

You're too tall of a man
To forget.

I can't call my parents because they are on vacation in Ireland. At least being in your twenties is easier than the potato famine.
